Meetup#34 "Zero Knowledge Proof"

The 34th eSatya meetup was successfully conducted on 23rd March, 2023, at Presidential Business School . The meetup was entitled “Zero Knowledge Proof”. The main mission of organizing a Meetup on the theme is to bring  together people interested in discussing zero-knowledge proof systems, their theory, implementation, and potential applications, through presentations and discussions.

Overall, Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) is a cryptographic protocol that allows a prover to prove to a verifier that they know a secret without revealing any information about the secret itself. It is based on interactive proofs and is used in applications such as secure authentication, communication, and digital signatures, as well as in blockchain technology for private transactions.

Our speaker for the meetup was Mr. Prajwol Gyawali, who is a blockchain researcher and developer at ibriz LLC. He is particularly fascinated by Zero Knowledge Proofs and is exploring its usage in blockchain and other areas. He believes that the future digital world will be powered by Zero Knowledge technology and is working towards that future.

The meetup was moderated by Mr.Thakpa Dhindup Gurung, and was supported by the Ethereum Support Program, CSIT Association of Nepal, Prime IT Club and Digital Notice Media Lab. It was hosted in Presidential Business School, Thapagaun, Kathmandu. . There were altogether 30 attendees who attended the meetup.

The session was followed by an interesting question and answer session at the end where the participant’s queries were answered by the speakers. The entire session was one hour long and was attended by students, clubs and other professionals.
