What is PramaanChain ?

Nepal's identity documents — citizenship certificates, academic transcripts, land records, and licenses — are still largely paper-based, easy to forge, and slow to verify, often needing days of manual phone calls and letters. PramaanChain is a verification layer that sits on top of Nepal's existing National ID infrastructure instead of replacing it. Issuing offices digitally sign each document and anchor its cryptographic fingerprint (hash) on a permissioned blockchain; citizens carry their credentials as QR codes, and any verifier can confirm authenticity in seconds.
