On August 25th, 2023, eSatya, in collaboration with The Algorithm Club organized an informative Blockchain 101 Session, bringing together a total of 70 students. The event featured eSatya team members Mr. Anish Maharjan, who helped us with the photographs and Ms. Amina Manandhar, the Event Manager along with Mr. Subham Dhakal, speaker for the session who is a Frontend Developer at Rumsan, leading the session. The audience consisted mostly of 1st and 2nd year IT students from Padma Kanya Multiple Campus.
One of the club members of The Algorithm gave an introduction to eSatya to start off the program. The spotlight was then turned to Mr. Subham. He introduced blockchain and emphasized the differences between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 in his opening remarks. In his discussion of the blockchain's significance and several uses in Nepal, Mr. Dhakal covered topics like land registration, supply chain transparency, and identity management. Additionally, with a focus on data decentralization, he dispelled common misconceptions about blockchain and presented examples of blockchain products in Nepal.
Through inquiries and engaging conversations, participants actively participated in Mr. Dhakal’s presentation throughout. Students' intense interest in learning more about the consequences of the blockchain revolution was highlighted by the extremely favorable feedback they provided. This joint event by eSatya and The Algorithm club offered a useful setting to highlight the potential of blockchain technology and its ability to bring about disruptive change in a variety of areas.
